about the collaborators

aurora de armendi is an interdisciplinary artist. she is currently an assistant professor of art at suny new paltz. she studied at the cooper union school of art, new york, ny (bfa, 2005) and the university of iowa, iowa city, ia (mfa, 2009). she was selected to be part of the program artist in the marketplace (aim) at the bronx museum of art during 2012-13 and she was awarded a full year residency from the center for book arts, new york in 2013. in 2016, she completed artist residencies at anderson ranch arts center (colorado) and jamaica flux (queens), and was a finalist for the cintas foundation fellowship showing her work at the mdcc museum at the freedom tower in miami. she was born in havana, cuba and currently lives in new york city.

dr. jessica del vecchio is a scholar/artist and an assistant professor of theatre at james madison university in virginia. her writing has appeared in contemporary theatre review, theatre journal, the drama review, and modern drama. she is currently working on her book manuscript, “straddling feminisms: post-wave pop politics and contemporary performance,” in which she examines the new movement of feminist performance taking place in new york city’s experimental theatre scene. also a singer/songwriter, she spent a decade writing, recording, and performing with the queer country trio ménage à twang. she is currently developing songs of the second wave, a solo documentary theatre piece that explores the feminist music of the 1970s. she is the book review editor of theatre topics and the president of the women and theatre program, part of the association for theatre in higher education.
